The Japanese type B plug standard JIS C 8303 is compatible with the US NEMA 5-15P.

Connector type C13 - Yung-Li Part No YC-12
The appliance coupler IEC 60320-C13 is used to connect equipment that doesn't produce excessive heat when in use. The maximum pin temperature should not exceed 70°C and the maximum current is 10A.

The connectors on this hybrid cable are marked with 7A because of the limit in Japan. They are however certified for use up to 10A in the USA. UL only allows one amperage marking, so the manufacturer has to choose the safest alternative.
